It's a language, not a religion
Aug. 16th, 2005 09:38 pmGah. If TBC interrupts one more code review with "if only Java had [insert your favorite Lisp feature]" I'm going to have to throw a brick at his head. And then shoot him in case the brick didn't work.
Unfortunately, I complained about this to HLM and not only did he get all devil's advocate on me, he's now reading my Lisp book. For heaven's sake people... it's a language, and what's more it's not a language that's nearly as easy to get a high-paying job in as some of the ones you so enjoy dissing, and it has too many parentheses. I'm learning it and that's fine. That's fun. No problem. But why the fuck would I want to learn something if it's going to make me hate what I do every day and turn me into a flaming snob? If that's really going to happen, I'd rather throw the book out the window and continue getting better at Java and C++.
I was feeling quite peaceful and serene today, until now. Must... ignore... crazy people.
