Ten band-aids worth of ow.
Nov. 11th, 2005 07:58 pmThis is just to remind y'all that the world is dangerous.
I was on my way to yoga class tonight when I just... fell on the sidewalk. Yes, I was trotting a bit, but don't remember being careless or tripping over anything... nonetheless, I must've, because I landed on my left hand (and elbow, and face), and by the time I got home there was blood dripping off most of my fingertips. It was all very Halloween. Stupid hand, you're two fucking weeks late!
I hate being hurt. Oh, and I scratched the hell out of my beautiful engagement ring. :(
Luckily some nice person just gave me a DVD of Varekai yesterday, so I will now go and console myself with that.
Edit: despite my whining and the ten band-aids, it's not actually a major injury. The stuff on my face isn't too visible, and at least I can still type. Actually, my fingers are hurt in inverse proportion to how important they are. This is both good and bad since I'm really not liking the look of that pinky finger. But I will recover, and no I don' t need to go to the hospital.
Edit II: Varekai is amazing. And the jeweler at Tiffanys' first reaction was "ooh, this is really bad." Then he started talking in terms of remounting. And then he said $550. I'm starting to be exceedingly glad I don't have to buy any plane tickets this holiday season. :$
