Two brumic lessons
Dec. 10th, 2005 08:57 amThe important part of this article about the snowstorm: "At least five fatal crashes were blamed on the storm, including a New Jersey couple who died when a sport utility vehicle crashed through their bedroom."
Holy shit. Imagine snuggling in bed, probably rather enjoying being snowed in, when an SUV comes in through your window and fucking kills you! That's not a way I want to die, personally, and I don't want it happening to my friends. So, never sleep on the ground floor again, people.
The other lesson I learned is simply NOT to take the bus when the roads are slick. I was a moron yesterday -- I could have taken the subway from Lechmere, but the 69 bus came up just then and I got on it. 45 minutes later I wasn't even halfway to Harvard Square yet. The sidewalks were okay, so as soon as I got off and walked I left the bus in the dust. I still missed my yoga class, but I learned my lesson. No wheels next time. I will either take the thing on rails or trust my feet.
