Babbling... mostly work stuff

Yesterday was a strange day. The workplace continues to be abuzz with the news of Big Daddy leaving, and a lot of the day was taken up by a 2-hr soul-sucking meeting led by Colubrid upper management and a 2-hr holiday party. Both of these were semi-enjoyable, since Dan the Cat and I spent the whole soul-sucking meeting doing a large crossword puzzle together. (Which leads to an interesting aside: he's been quite a bit more friendly to me lately. Part of me is happy about that... but if he's just trying to solidify relationships before he quits, then it's not worth it).

I'm also realizing that our trip to Belize is coming right up. Last night I used it as an opportunity/excuse to finally buy a decent bag for the overhead bin from courierware. I also ordered a thong bikini. I was feeling guilty about that (the money, not the plan to show my butt to everyone on Ambergris Caye)... then, today I found out that we're due a small increase in the next paycheck to make up for a minor accounting slip when we were all hired on at Colubrid, and it more than covers my little shopping spree. Yay!

Off to yoga now, perchance to do backbends. (Backbends, by the way, feel super-weird now that they actually stretch my spine, instead of my tight forearms being the limitation... but I'm sure it's progress.)
