Things to look forward to
Aug. 13th, 2006 11:01 pmWhee! We just joined Celebrity Series for the first time ever, which means we've preordered tickets to see Cirque Eloize in March and Pilobolus in December (as well as a music thing). It's good to have things to look forward to. :) We so rarely bother to buy tickets for anything, but we really love it when we do. I think both these performances will be inspiring, and get this, Pilobolus has a summer workshop for adults. Anyone want to spend a week in Washington Depot, CT next summer?
I also found out that The Sims 2 Pets expansion is coming out in October, so I can foresee some autumnal hours a-wasting there while I learn how to breed sim-kittens. No reason to be responsible about spaying in virtual reality.
Since work is sucking, I'm going to need to bring more nonwork things into my life, and these are just a couple that I'm reminding myself I already have planned. Despite some intention to work today, I spent this weekend being very unplugged -- not on the computer and mostly not even reading. It was nice. Real, physical reality is almost always pleasant and manageable. Probably the best part was seeing
bluechromis on Saturday. She helped me do walkovers! And I could sort of do them, even, and they feel neat!!! Thank you, blue!! Of the four possible walkovers (back or forward, right or left leg first) there's one that I'm confident I could do without a spot after a couple more lessons.
