Deck the halls (and the stairwells)...
Nov. 19th, 2006 10:18 pmWith parallettes done I suddenly realized that it's rather close to December and I haven't done Christmas stuff yet. Early for most people, late for me. I found some lovely cards to send out... that should inspire me to actually do cards this year... and got a few new ornaments. I like the holidays so much... to me they represent putting a temporary hold on the usual relentless striving, and putting the focus on celebrating our existing lives and friends. I can't wait until they put up the nondenominational lights over the streets of Cambridge. For those who don't live here: they string giant rectangles of mesh across the major roads, with lights woven through them to look like people dancing. It's very cheerful. :)
I also went good-shoe-shopping today. I bought comfortable but cute boots, the lack of which has been an annoying gap in my wardrobe for years, and also a pair of Merrell mocassins in "bug brown". Damn the Tannery and its seemingly perpetual "buy one get one half off".
We have new stair railings in the front stairwell and they look really pretty. The replastering is all done. These are some quick workerfolk we got this time! My life feels filled with good things.
