Spot the smiling face
Mar. 15th, 2008 07:21 pmI just got back from two hours of working out... 45 minutes of cardio with weightlifting/strength both before and after it. I'll try to be just as kick-ass tomorrow, and then I'll get on a plane and sit for 6.5 hours until it takes me to California. The really sad thing is, well, that's not more sitting than I usually do. Stupid office job.
I'm kind of ambivalent about this business trip, which means I'm trying not to be too negative. Travelling for business is a lot of work, it messes up my weekends, it takes me away from my kitty and guarantees that everything will be kind of difficult/stressful. Of course, it does mean I get to see Chia... and because the primary goal will be to stay sane, the bar will be lowered. I'll be counting my days as complete successes if I work, work out, don't eat unhealthy free food and don't miss any shuttles.
Here's an interesting game demo: spot the smiling face in a 4x4 grid of faces. (Theoretically this may condition the mind to register approval and ignore disapproval, thus boosting self-esteem.) It's fascinating how hard it was to spot some of these.

My average speed to find the smiling face was 3.796 seconds. How about you?
