Fifth (wedding) anniversary, late
Oct. 5th, 2008 07:25 pmAlthough it was 3 weeks ago, I have to give
heisenbug mad, retroactive props for making our fifth wedding anniversary as good as it could possibly have been. I was upset and tired and sick, and he drove us all the way to and from Six Flags and went on roller coasters with me and took care of me.
The traditional fifth anniversary gift material is wood, which is special because
heisenbug does woodworking. I gave him a nice little vase that he liked, but he's giving me an earring rack that will seal to keep out tarnish and that has a bas-relief carving of Nala on the front. :)

True, it didn't get done on time, and it's still not done, but that's all right. The seventh anniversary present is supposed to be wool and
heisenbug doesn't like warm sweaters, which means that I will at some point be knitting a man-sized, custom-designed sweater out of sport-weight yarn, on a deadline. A little precedent for late present-giving is a fine thing, under those circumstances.
