Greetings from California! If you didn't know I was going to California this week, don't worry, neither did I until last Tuesday. I'm here to visit the Zillian mothership and get some knitting done. And actually, it's nice so far... I have a one-bedroom Zillian apartment all to myself. I think this is the first time I've experienced a business trip as a bit of a break from responsibilities.

Here's something random that's bugged me for a while: who are they aiming at when I am on the subway platform and hear "Do not smoke blah blah. If you smoke you are not only endangering the health of your fellow passengers -- you are breaking the law." Hmmm? The second part of sentence constructions like that are supposed to be the stronger argument. But if it were me, I'd think this makes more sense: ...you are not only breaking the law, you are endangering the health of your fellow passengers. Different moral sensibilities, I guess.
