I've been catching up on is the hundreds of items stacked up for me in Google Reader. One of them was... wait for it... tips for returning to normal after a large disruption. Oddly, it doesn't mention setting up a spreadsheet and entering the measurements of all one's sweaters, which is quite in line with my own getting back to normal since it means I'm finishing the design of a half-knitted sweater. :-)

Today was a minor disruption: I had to spend it giving feedback on the performance of other people. While this doesn't cast me into the depths of despair the way that rating myself does, it takes me for-freaking-ever because I want to make sure I'm being fair and complete; I haven't always observed people doing their entire job; and I'm always worried that I won't say things right, or will damn them with insufficient praise because I have a concise style. ARGH. That said, I saw the feedback one of my "superstar, just for promo" reviewers is planning to give about me, and it was high-level stuff about how I took new engineers and turned them into a healthy team that has been delivering, and it made me sound good. Yeah. This guy tends to get what he wants: good news for me.

Then tonight I went to see my favorite massage therapist, and I let him ferret around in my levator scapulae and my serratus anterior and other fibrous areas. He found quite a few muscle fibers that were playing at being wires or sticks, and persuaded some of them to stop doing that. It was good, because I have had a nasty tightness complex all around my left neck/shoulder for three weeks now. It has withstood several massages already, but I have NO doubt it'll be significantly better tomorrow.

Starred emails needing action: seven.
Minutes past "stop being on the computer time" that I've been on the computer: nine.

Good night!
