Day 2 of festival proper
Oct. 9th, 2011 08:35 pmOh cool, Z-dawg is here (just for today). So great to see him! He flew me in a 10+ second low hand-to-hand, by far the best I've ever done.
Today's classes: one on entering/exiting a few poses with style, one on trio tricks I'd mostly done before, one Thai massage. There was also a new same-size partner exercise that moved in a square, with each person doing back headstand walkovers over the other person's hands-and-knees platform, in turn. Not hard, but cute/fun. My partner and I had a discussion about programming languages while doing that -- yes, seriously.
I bought the inevitable shirts today. One is a blue thermal with "Hanuman Devotion" on it... very me, if you know the Hanuman legend. And now I sit typing this while Gypsy Tears opens for a kirtan with Jai Uttai. On one side of me is a 26-year-old girl who wants to be a rabbi when she's older, on the other a 47-year old programmer whose midlife has taken a turn for the acrobatic. We can see city lights across the bay. I've gotta laugh because this is THE most acroyoga scene on the planet, tonight.
Sita Ram, jai jai Ram shri...
