Used my morning getting to Home Depot and back. This always takes a bit of doing, and it's funny/strange to me that we spent much more time debating how to get me there (3.5 miles, with buses on Sunday schedule, and the train running shuttle buses, and taxis being annoying and it being extra cold) than discussing what our budget should be or anything like that.
And then: it takes so long to work with the nice Home Depot guy to get all the right fields entered into the order form for a semi-custom vanity top. The people at those desks are good for things like creating a fully custom bank of cabinetry -- they'll remind you to order a toe kick, things like that -- but for this, I could have done it much faster and just as well if solieque.com just had a web order form. Why don't they?
Also:
colors and colors and colors of Corian.
Also: there should be a name for that feeling you get wandering around an enormous store like Home Depot, looking at all the house stuff and not being able to think of a single thing you should probably pick up while you're there.
