Clap your hands, say yeah

No-thing-buying time is over today! It was pretty painless this year. This morning I ordered a GeekDesk frame... I want to buy a desk top separately... and daydreamed about buying jeans.

In social news -- an old friend from my first job was lunched with. Then I went straight to an afternoon drink and snacks with friends, which we arrived at right when aliens were attacking human planets in my book! Arrrgh! I was on tenterhooks the whole time. The only solace was getting to talk about the book with the woman who gave it to me -- and, yes, also the excellent company and excellent news, dr_alycat and cook_ting. :D

Finally, a concert. In the first half I was noticing how funny it looked when everyone in the auditorium held up their hands and clapped, like a huge room of trained seals performing in unison. Then in the second half one of the pieces consisted of two performers clapping, in complex rhythms -- when it ended we all did our seal routine on cue, and heisenbug leaned over and said "it's kind of embarrassing to have to clap after that."
