I took Thursday and Friday off, and have managed to not check work mail even once so far. Most of the time's been spent taking care of an amazing number of physical chores, including getting a new bathroom mirror from Home Depot and installing it. Now that I've done the silicone sealant around the vanity backsplash, our very slow bathroom upgrade is done (along with several other projects). It's nice to have something to write a normal post about... refusing to write about work has made it hard to write about anything lately.
So, before: a plain base cabinet, with no drawers or internal divisions, basically useless for toiletries. Topped with granite the color of cat puke (or, I'm told, baby poop)... the color of sand only on a very, very generous day. This is actually from today; it's a picture of the vanity in the other bathroom, not upgraded.

After: An slightly taller Strasser Woodenworks vanity with four drawers. Topped with gray Corian -- integrated sink, coved backsplash and a higher faucet. I have to bend over significantly less now to wash my hands.

We were even able to give away the old granite pieces on Freecycle.
