It's been a while since my last public post. I took Friday off and spent this weekend down in NYC studying acro, staying with Nycotine at night and working with Scooper during the day. There were fifteen hours of acro in 2.5 days, and I ate too many muffins and french fries, and today I am detoxing... but goddamn do I know some new acro tricks. Like how to TWIRL from crocodile around 360 degrees to an outside side star. So cool. Boston represented like mad, even though the Ant couldn't make it, and we got almost everything presented to us at least once.

(And there's a new advanced intensive for the end of March, with preregistration ONLY open to partner pairs... I want to go and, as usual, I don't know if I can get a base to commit.)

My Kindle died in my hands last night on the bus back from NYC, but this morning I found out that Zillian's holiday gift is a Nexus 7. Out with one smallish device and in with another! I'll be sad to not have the Kindle for my holiday travels, though, and the Paperwhite is out of stock at Amazon, so I'm doing a hail-Mary removal of the battery overnight to see if that resets it.

From last week: the eye doctor let me pick my own prescription this time around! What was that about? I've worn 5.50/6.50 for years, and he said we could crank it up to 6.00/7.00 but that it was up to me; for close work the old prescription is fine as long as I'm happy with how I'm seeing. I felt trapped in some kind of weird morality play: how clearly do you want to see the world? Always before I've simply been told "your prescription is X".
