40 pistols on each side in the gym this morning, a kickass handstand class this evening with my handstand friends (I floated a one-arm for a tiny split second! heyyyyy what was that!), and trading lists of pistol variations with circus friends on Facebook.
How many pistol variations do I have in my pocket NOW? I'm rich!
Also, this is my new favorite "showing off my awesome base" video. He thinks he's showing off, but actually I'm showing him off. Hee.

- Regular pistols (toes pointed, toes flexed)
- Shrimp-to-pistol
- Elevated pistols with free leg hanging down
- Myotatic pistols, which I posted about once: go down, rise up to 90 degree knee, sink back down, then stand all the way up.
- Y-scale pistols: hold the free leg up and out to the side.
- Jumping pistols (start low, jump up onto something)
- Pistols holding a weight, either in both hands or with the opposite hand, hand right in front of shoulder, palm in.
- Renegade pistol: go down, switch legs, come up. No using stored energy.
- Cossack pistol -- explosively switch feet at the bottom. A Pavel Tsatsouline special that I don't entirely understand, but maybe it's like this.
