flexagon: (acro-still)
I spent five hours in acro workshops this Saturday, and it was so nice. We switched partners all the time, Scooper was nowhere in sight, it was almost... healing. I learned a nice, very gentle way to lead my base around when flying two-high; a new way up to three-high; and got to remember that I am good at counterbalance. Then for the second workshop the Ant showed up (!) and I got to fly hand-to-hand on him, steady and smooth and good. It felt like coming home.

On Sunday I rested, except for splitting a handbalancing semiprivate with D. I did really well, and felt my straddle pike handstand just hanging out in good form for a while, and damn near jumped up to the canes by myself. No, not quite, but not far either. The new teacher's advice about NOT rounding the back too much before the jump is really, really helping. I can push much harder if I have some range of motion left to push with.

Today someone who teaches over at BKB randomly contacted me about maybe splitting some handbalancing semiprivates, and says she wants to learn to base hand-to-hand. (The Ant had referred her to me.) Based on her back muscles and duo trap photos, she's totally legit and could indeed base me if I gave the right jump... how intriguing.

Dear partner acro: I'm still mad at you, but maybe I'm not entirely in need of a break.
