Twirling onward
May. 3rd, 2016 10:28 pmIt's interesting to be cheerful and to feel like the future is... is... well maybe we don't think too hard about that, but not obviously doomed, anyway.
Of the new connections I mentioned a while ago, two are sticking and going well. One is the new acro base, who might someday need a nickname -- just two dynamic acro classes in, it's really obvious that we work well together. We stuck the first standing hand-to-hand we ever tried, and I'm getting my pitching form back. I expected to be perfectly happy retreading old ground with a new person and cheering when the partnership got tricks I have felt in other partnerships; but to my delight we're working on one trick that is entirely new to me, a run-up to reverse hand-to-hand. When we get that it'll be a real first. :D
The other one is the therapist; I like her. I think this morning was my fifth time seeing her, and she said useful things about my dad. Maybe he had boundary issues? "What was that one-room cabin, after all, but the very embodiment of a no-boundaries environment?" Hmmm. What indeed.
And my friend SPW just got her first press handstand on her FIFTIETH birthday, after trying for twelve years. Fuck yeah, lady.
PSA: this year's totally presentable Croc sandal is the Anna slide... comfy elastic bands look nice and the footbed is still pure Croc.
