I've been working. A lot. Because it's that time at work where I try very hard to responsibly and fairly assign a rating to people's work over the last 6 months. And I've been meaning for days and days to post something about not having enough contemplative time in my life right now... it'd be nice to have time for musing, and thinking, and posting delightful trivialities. Of course the one time I did set aside for contemplation this week, in my therapist's office, surfaced and popped a giant sadness bubble instead of providing the contented mental curation I've been craving.

Relevant Robot Hugs here, on brains and keeping the scumbag things busy. I'm not sure though. I'm STILL craving a little less busy. And in a long-term way, I'm hoping it's good to think (and feel) through things.

My neck has some strained ligaments, associated with some sort of nerve pinch that sends numbness down my left pointer and middle fingers sometimes. Sustained on Monday 8/8, as it happens, so it's been an entire month. It's getting better, and I have a gentle little PT exercise to do for it every night, so it's more annoying than worrisome. I'm lucky that it never stopped me from doing handstands. At this point I can also do backbends, which it was stopping me from at the beginning. More good news: my back flexibility is returning to a comfortable range fairly quickly, now that I'm doing a few backbends most days, and I expect I'll get back to working kickovers again pretty soon. I want to find and define some benchmark to hold at, and not let myself regress again -- it's something I did on purpose in order to work on spinal mobility in the other direction, but I think it was a bad idea and now I just miss my old range of motion.

Hmm.

Delightful triviality: Aveda mosscara is the least clumpy mascara I've ever tried.

Other triviality: I did some research on micellar water and found that it is in fact soapy water... those magical-sounding "micelles" are not just tiny droplets of oil, they are soap micelles. Made of saponified oil. It probably doesn't play well with the friendly bacteria I've been also using, but it sure works to remove grease, leaves my face feeling nice rather than dry and -- for reasons I still don't understand -- does not require rinsing. Maybe I'll switch for a while.
