An easier week. I'm grateful.
Nov. 19th, 2017 05:47 pmI wasn't oncall for anything at work. I did a lot of work email Sunday (yeah, a week ago) and nothing really came in that I couldn't handle, so I got an entire week of just dealing reasonably with incoming issues. Bopped down to see
norwoodbridge on Tuesday evening but came home to clean the house instead of staying overnight, and generally stayed on top of shit.
Sniffles being intermittently still present, I skipped drinking on Friday night and then slept for about 10.5 hours and never really woke up the next day. I did things, and lots of stretching at the gym, but super slowly. In the end I spent the whole evening with takeout and the fireplace, and a book I won't name because
apfelsingail is getting it for Christmas if it keeps being this amusing.
Without planning to, I also did a sweep through my clothes and books and so-called gift drawer, and ended up taking four big bags of stuff to Goodwill. Sometimes being tired makes me feel unattached, in a good way. This morning brought more wakefulness, though, and I promptly undid part of that decluttering by going to, uh, return a shirt to the Athleta store. Return, I say. And I did return it! I just also poked around Athleta a little bit after that. Which is fine really. I'm going to be wearing this thing all winter with skinny pants and boots -- it's a sweater on the outside and fleece on the inside, and generally is all a girl could desire.
On Friday I tried doing handstand jumps onto blocks and flopping over on a mat, as a way of working up toward canes, and didn't do so well. But today in open studio the same thing went much better, with both tucks and straddles. I think I'm getting the feeling of pushing down on the blocks as I jump, which my coach has been urging me to try to feel. Next week, with two blocks? Who knows?
I'm vastly looking forward to a four-day weekend for Turkey Day. We'll be doing a friendsgiving thing about three blocks from our house -- what can I say, I like to play on easy mode.
