I have a really unpleasant (for me) tendency to appear more okay (to others) than I actually am. Then people are surprised when I act out of the ordinary in an attempt to get myself back together, or do obvious things like crying in meetings at work. Sigh.
So yeah! Last week couldn't match the prior one for weirdness, but it sure was bad. After three days in a row of crying at work, I postponed my
heisenbug date and cancelled my
norwoodbridge date and just introverted on Friday and Saturday. With the exception of an outdoor concert by the bug at which everyone and their lover/child/dog/brother seemed to show up and the only one I was remotely happy to see was Lion, that is. :P
Three good things:
Five interminable days from today, I will be on vacation. It's becoming clear that I'm going to spend a lot of time playing Baba Is You, and I'm fine with that.

Three good things:
- The bug gave me an early birthday present of Ted Chiang's new (!) book of short stories, Exhalation, which is awesome because I had no idea he had anything new coming out.
- The veterinarian we saw yesterday gave Hypercube the ridiculous new nickname of "angelpants", in the middle of a stream of quite remarkable baby-talk.
- My painfully strained lower abs seemed to feel better today during my lesson with Bender. Healing is good. Tomorrow we'll see how backbends feel.
