That one guy in Amelie
Sep. 3rd, 2020 09:20 pmMinor effect of global pandemic: can't wear toenail polish, because of Zoom handstand and contortion classes that put my feet up against the wall. I already got purple all over my wall and my boyfriend's wall. Ordered a few nail polishes from ORLY anyway, because they came out with some nice moody muddy colors (behold), and I'll just have to switch to fingernails.
work work work: More working -- Saturday, and then midnight or later all week -- writing peer reviews for 21 people (blackjack!) and then shepherding in the peer reviews for my team's promo cases. My director is fucking with one of them and I don't like it, but it's in otherwse beautiful shape so far and I'm trying not to read malice into his actions because doing so just doesn't help. He's bad though. I'm having a hard time maintaining focus on the project of getting to a better work group, and right now is a bad time, but every now and then he reminds me I should try again after this particular cycle of madness ends in a few weeks. ANYWAY, we have today and Monday both off, so it's a long weekend and I guess I'll do some sleeping and cooking.
Things completed: I finished reading Orfeo (which was well-written, but mostly just made me feel guilty that![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
heisenbug ended up with me instead of a musician) and am on the last trippy, difficult level of Snakebird. My Friday night press handstand series is also over, which frees up Friday nights a bit.
I'm functional, but most days I feel like that one guy in Amelie who only likes bubble wrap. Remember that scene? Lots of little intros to people and most of them like a lot of things, and then you get to bubble-wrap guy. For me it's ice water.
