Yes, a fairly peaceful week, readers. After a four-day workweek I took Friday off to spend time with [personal profile] apfelsingail, who was staying with us while passing through on her way north to family, and it was the first time in person for almost two years. We went to bookstores, and of course I introduced her to Helios (fold fold fold), and we cooked bacon and played Nintendo and generally caught up.

And I hit a funny stopping point in a lot of my little personal projects, finishing Addie LaRue (book) on the same night as A Monster's Expedition (game, which I had faithfully been playing daily in order to not lose my touch with the puzzles), and less than 24 hours later I had my follow-up with the doctor about polypectomy/ablation (all good news; the polyps were benign and I'm cleared to go back to all my normal sexual activity). I've been keeping ongoing projects listed on post-its on the side of my bookshelf, and they all cleared off at the same time -- which works well enough since I'm about to go into manager crunchtime at work.

I was social today. I woke up with my nose between Helios' shoulderblades, moved on to coffee with a coworker who's doing sperm donation to his friend and wanted advice based on my egg donation, had my weekly check-in with the bug, and had dinner with Norwood for the first time in a while. That was nice, mostly quite easy, and we caught up on all the gossip and recommended books and video games to each other. I'm sure it helps us both a lot that he's seeing someone new, and also that I'm not seeing anyone new; keeping it simple.
