Bounce, bounce, bounce, dive, arch
May. 8th, 2007 08:11 amLast night was "suddenly able to do front handsprings off the end of the tumble track" night. What the hell... they're not even hard, I was just missing one motion.
Handsprings weren't an explicit goal of mine, but getting used to going over like that should be good for eventually doing walkovers.

Date: 2007-05-09 11:12 am (UTC)I think of two things: first, dive forward as close to horizontally as possible (i.e. not very, but I try), and then as soon as hands make contact and I'm sure I'm pushing out of my shoulders, arch the whole body backward. This motion keeps your feet going, and that feet-hip momentum is what picks your upper body up from the ground.
