Where's the soreness?
Jul. 18th, 2003 10:05 amWow. I think the glutamine must be working. Wednesday night's workout involved some stepping wheel kicks--not enough to kill me, but I thought I would at least feel it--and I wasn't sore yesterday at all except in one calf. So yesterday I did some SLDLs, something I often skip on Thursdays, again at a level that is known to make me sore. Today so far, again, nothing (except for the calf, which still hurts but isn't yesterday's fault).
I'm not burpy anymore either... that was only for the first day or so. I'm starting to feel some actual hope here! I definitely look forward to seeing how next Sunday goes. Wanna get me some wrist straps and push my SLDLs back up to 90. I did one set at that weight once. :)
Tonight is Mexican food with B. I actually brought a skimpier top to change into for that... showing yet again that I dress up much more for girls than guys most of the time. It's kind of funny. But when I know someone consistently out-cutes me and that I'll just feel dowdy if I wear what I'm wearing to work, but I'll feel buff (very buff in comparison, in this case) if I change to something tighter and smaller, it becomes worth it to grab the extra top.

Glutamine's amazing huh?

Too funny - I did think it was cute the other day when you were all distressed at my glitter. If it makes you feel better, I didn't do it on purpose, I just almost always put some level of effort in now - it really affects my confidence.

Date: 2003-07-18 10:03 am (UTC)I don't feel the glutamine has been fully tested yet, but it definitely makes a huge difference so far. P-boy hasn't noticed it as much... he's really sore today. But he's also been doing evil killer track workouts, and I've only been doing "this should make me a little sore" type stuff.
Ready to go clubbing?
Date: 2003-07-18 10:33 am (UTC)The glutamine is most effective if you take it RIGHT after working out, so that's one suggestion to check with P-boy on.

Date: 2003-07-18 02:36 pm (UTC)I'm doing what the betagen bottle says, which means taking 6g a day in three doses, pretty evenly paced except that I'm taking the last one right after my evening workout (and on Saturday I'm planning to spar, so will probably take a dose right before and another right after that). I was thinking of doing a double class... hmmm, and I'd like to, but I would so love to be in good shape for a good weight workout on Sunday, and haven't figured out how much I can get away with yet.
Oy, I'm babbling. The point was supposed to be: I should research dosages and see if what the bottle says is really optimal. I know I'm lighter than their stated dose is intended for, already, though.
