OMG front walkover

I did my first front walkover tonight! And then (after some failed attempts) another one!

It was really nice to have a measurable acro-breakthrough. This week's felt a little bit rough, getting back into my usual workouts AND my usual workweek... my ashtanga performance on Tuesday sucked, to put it kindly. At the other end of the spectrum, I went to acroyoga in its new home on Monday and Wednesday nights, and although a lot about them was good -- they seem to be instant successes with the new students, and a lot of the old crowd is in attendance too -- so far they're basic enough that I'm barely in first gear. I'll lose all my flying skills if I don't also manage to attend some of the jams people are starting to run. I see the utility of going to the basic classes, especially since having lots of advanced people is by far the best way to bring this new group up to cruising speed; I'm useful there. Still, I will swap out a class next week for Tuesday's jam, and will ask soon if the teacher's planning another 4-week series for advanced folk.

Walkovers are so very much the bomb. Oh man. :D

Okay, I have to ask - what is a walkover? Is it what it sounds like?

In both cases it's just going from standing to handstand to standing -- but in the forward/back plane, not sideways like a cartwheel.

Hey there, thanks for your note! I wasn't ignoring your comment, but I did need to clarify my schedule a little bit with Bonnie. Definitely looks like I'll be doing her classes on Wednesday, with Mondays being a little more random -- I'll plan on stopping by your class a week from today. :)

I'll be at "Zacro" tomorrow too, despite having missed a couple of weeks there. Hope to see you.

Neat, it'll be fun to see you when you're able to make it. Not sure about Zacro tomorrow night (depends on whether my shoulder is angry at me), but I hope to be at least semi-regularly there in the next few weeks.
