Whoa. Our registries are being sucked dry... suddenly people are buying things. We shouldn't be surprised, given that I sent out the link to our wedding page (which has links to our registries) on Friday, but we are. Astonishingly, the more expensive things have been the first to go, so the first four gifts covered most of the total monetary value, and we found ourselves scrambling to think of more things to register for. A better answering machine was one good answer, and the textile part of setting a decent table: that is, tablecloth, napkins, napkin rings. We did hurt each others' feelings a bit: I didn't know he liked his (I thought) cheap, crappy phone, and he didn't know I liked my speakers (the ones that apparently have thuddy bass and no decent sound in the midrange). Not too badly though; it was so stereotypical it was funny. And all of it came after a nice dinner and some good jungle lovin'... impossible to get in a bad mood after that. :)

That was Friday and Saturday nights, basically one evening each to care for the two registries. Saturday daytime, I bought new wedding makeup and took the commuter rail down to Sharon to try on my dress again. It's much closer to fitting and will supposedly come home to me on Friday totally done. Yay! I also got the veil, now nicely ironed out, and brought it home to affix it to a comb and sew sparklies on it. The veil's so funny... very foofy and girly, and yes it will cover up my hair. I like it anyhow.

I also found out that there does exist a plan for HLM's bachelor party now. And it does not involve strippers. I confess to breathing a bit easier. :)

Today I worked out and then went to work for a while, partly to work but also to spend over an hour on wedding emails to the photographer, the bridesmaids, the houseguests and the FMIL. One of the BMs (V) isn't going to be in town until the rehearsal dinner, so she'll miss the brunch and free manicure part of the day... really too bad. And I had to buy pearl earrings for her since she doesn't have any... thank heaven for ebay... and it turns out M doesn't have any either, nor does she have pierced ears, so I wrote my mom to see if any of her old clip-on ones are pearl. Lotta details, yes, I know. Picked up a few groceries on the way home and worked on the veil for a while. I got it on the comb with a string of pearly beads across the top, and now I'm sewing on the crystal beads, which is taking forever. Oh well, I saved about $60 by getting a veil from the fabric store instead of premade from David's Bridal., so I will remember that and persevere.

Skin TMI: I haven't squeezed at my face at all since Friday, not one single solitary pinch. I can't even tell you how long it's been since I did that! Two whole days! I can't even tell you how pleased I am... the habit really seems to be breaking. And my skin seems pretty happy, too. Oooooh. :D

I got hit on at the gym today, perhaps in part because I was wearing my wedding eye makeup and my skin is all clear. I did look rather good. I squelched the guy pretty firmly though: no, there's nowhere in Davis I really hang out these days... my wedding's in 3 weeks so I've been pretty busy. You wouldn't believe how much planning they take! Okay, so I get 2/10 for subtlety, but it sure was effective and I didn't have time to do better. Poor men... it isn't their fault the lifting gloves cover the ring.

'k, that was my weekend. I await everyone else's stories of being laid-back, seeing friends, all the nice things I get to start doing again in 3 weeks... :)
