flexagon: (balancing)

I went to a real handbalancing class tonight, did real handstands, and I don't think I caused any damage to my wrist (I didn't feel any pain until, just once, I tried sitting on my hands on the canes sans Tiger Paw; that's still a no-go). I was careful, and got a lot of free-balanced time anyway. My level of focus has leveled up bigtime -- there's a feeling that every moment of actually being on my hands is precious and I don't want to waste it. This feeling is matched only by my fury when I "let my ribs go" and thus overbalance. And by my joy after, when I realize that I really balanced by myself for a bit.

In a related note (though this is MUCH easier on the wrists), Scooper and I are starting to get our hand-to-hand balance much better. This is the first time ever that we got it solidly enough that he could put his feet back on the ground; we got a photo of it by sheer luck, from a random photographer passing through who decided to hang out with the photogenic acro people. My form isn't perfect here -- something to work on -- but I'm still very psyched:

hand-to-hand

On Tuesday we hit an even better one.
