A nice little chore for this weekend
Oct. 1st, 2003 02:15 pmWith the company's new fiscal year, the $500/year they give us for personal spending on geek equipment is restored. For the first time, we are being allowed to use that $500 toward office chairs--and oh, how sweet the thought of a cheap, really good chair! So it's time to go shopping.
I think I'll be deciding between the Aeron B and the newer Mirra.

Nope... work isn't worthy of my spiffy chair...

Can you tell I work in a hostile environment?
One more thing...

Date: 2003-10-02 02:17 pm (UTC)I need to be better at stuff like that
Date: 2003-10-02 02:53 pm (UTC)I am actually terrible at separating work and personal stuff, and have tons of emails balled up in an Outlook .psd file that I'd really hate to lose. Since I think I'll be able to choose my time of leaving, I should have time to deal with stuff like that, redirect my MIT alum account, and so forth. But I'm totally aware that I'm leaving myself open to nasty data loss in the case of getting fired.
At least I'm finally administering my website from home.
thanks

Date: 2003-10-02 03:10 pm (UTC)There's only a handful of programs on my machine now that I wouldn't want work to get, but.. *shrugs* I'm ready.
Personally I wish it didn't have to be this way. I'm fiercely loyal to a company to the end, but only if it's worth being loyal too. I was loyal to MetalSite for 3 years before I realized that it was a sinking ship and I needed to start swimming or drown with the rats.
