I'm kind of horrified at how little I've been updating LJ lately. I read it every day, and I think I think I'm posting, when I'm not. :-)

I wanted to post about last weekend, when my cold abated just in time to let me attend a weekend of acro workshops. Acro's been such a source of disconnect in my life lately, but the visiting teacher taught a bunch of L-basing stuff that was new, yet felt really good and accessible to me. He used me for a lot of demos and I had a lot of fun, and was flipped through the air rather nicely. As if this wasn't enough, on Sunday Esh had a visiting acroyoga base who I'd met at Divine Play, and we invented a fun little sequence with a pop into reverse hand-to-hand... something I've never had reliably before, but, look, now I have standing h2h instincts that come into play! We got it, oh, six or seven times, no problem.

So I got to feel like a good flyer again, and minus a lot of the tremendous awkwardness that's been around the acro scene lately, and that was really nice.

Continuing this theme, I did a three-person three-high private yesterday, and that was fun too! Usually I middle the three-highs, but this girl really wants to learn to middle, and I'm excited to get the chance to top fly, so that works for me. We got 95% of the way there, and the middle was disappointed in herself* over the missing 5%, but I'm excited to try again.

And there's an upcoming acro weekend in NYC, which the Ant reached out to me about. Why yes, you large and adorable insect, I would love to work with you! So I'm hoping to do a couple of semiprivates with him to lead up to that, and perhaps re-spark his interest in ongoing training (but I'm not so tied to that anymore; it's possible to find other partners).

* I gave her chocolate-covered almonds, and a hug, and assured her I really like working with her. EDITED TO ADD: and the next day we got two more shots at it, and we totally did it and kicked ass and the whole acro side of Esh stopped to watch us.

I have been experimenting with the Mandelic acid that you mentioned. I mostly like the results, although I have to be careful about getting too dry around my nose and chin.

I was just wondering how you were doing, thanks for the update. :-)
