It's close enough to the end of the year -- I'm taking a page from [livejournal.com profile] nevers and listing some firsts. There were rather a lot even after I take out the "adult" ones, which gives me some hope that 2015 will have its share too.

  • Broke into an abandoned mental hospital

  • Got electrolysis

  • Possibly held a double-stag handstand for 60 seconds, though no proof; ETA: DEFINITELY held a straight handstand for a count of 85 on 12/31, though there is no proof.

  • Took contortion classes

  • Got promoted to Staff Software Engineer

  • Adopted an ocicat

  • Learned to spin poi

  • Cut out dairy (first dietary restriction ever! woop?)

  • Did a headstand with arms behind my head

  • Performed in a handbalancing act

  • Attended a high-school reunion

  • Flew the top of a successful three-high

I have a whole mental thread going with myself on how nothing is sounding great about 2015, although historically I've loved times with nothing big and obvious going on. And the fact that I don't plan to change family members, partners, jobs or hobbies means I have the right ones already.

  • I'm going to become less well-roundedly fit, specialize in handstands (and especially press muscles/flexibility) and see what happens

  • [livejournal.com profile] heisenbug and I are going to plan a trip to Las Vegas

  • [livejournal.com profile] norwoodbridge is going to get a bunny!

  • It seems likely that The Doors of Stone might come out

  • Hypercube will become a legal (feline) adult, and maybe learn to jump onto the counter

Is that so bad? It is not so bad.
