When I work too hard and home is just a launchpad for getting to work (then a place to sit while I do the late shift from the couch), the condo gets into a pretty ugly state. I wake up on Saturday and immediately can't relax until things are cleaned up somewhat. Does this happen to anyone else? It must, right?

This weekend feels especially bad. I actually took half a day off yesterday, and really needed to unwind, so I left the house for an early-morning walk rather than face the mess. Kind of extreme behavior for me.

I have, at the moment, gotten nearly everything to a reasonable state except the kitchen and litterbox, and I'm off to get those out of the way. After that maybe I can at least make a weekend to-do list. I can't persuade myself that I prioritized anything the wrong way during the week, and yes a couple of hours can make a tremendous difference when it comes to cleanup. But, ideally, I'd like to greet the weekend with a little more "ooh" and a lot less "ugh" than I'm doing this time.

I feel you. I've been spot cleaning but need to get into a sustainable cleaning habit at my new place. I got another storage solution to help with the final bits of unpacking/organising, now I just have to get all the camping stuff back into the basement (where I need at least one more shelf...). But yeah, the less said about the state of my kitchen floor, the better. I totally get that "but if I just started, it would be done in an hour" feeling and then continuing to avoid it. :-)

Oh man, YES. I have a whole routine where I try to clean/tidy as I go along during the week, and then spend a couple of hours Saturday morning cleaning so I can enjoy the weekend. I keep wishing I had the time/energy to do this on Friday so I'd have the whole weekend to not clean.
