Trying not to be a bitch

Whew. Finally I finished the hell-project at work, kicked some Ricochet Robot ass for the first time in a while, and can relax a bit.

Today and yesterday, Going Bridal has been all about not being a bitch to one's bridesmaids... which I'm trying hard not to be. You know that kitty picture? It's for a bridesmaid. Apparently some people ask a lot of their 'maids, but I just don't have that sense of entitlement to huge chunks of their lives--I think it's amazing enough that all 3 of these people are willing to plunk down plane tickets and the cost of a dress just to come see me. Anyway, as of today it turns out they don't like their dresses, quite understandably since Victoria's Secret promised us navy blue and when they came, they were almost black. So I told them to return 'em... fine, we still have time... trouble is that blue is not in this year, in cheap dresses anyway, and now they may have to pay more, like over $100, for actual bridesmaids' dresses, despite my best efforts to not have them do that. Sigh. I so wanted to spare them this hassle. But they are still being nice about it all, so far.

I still think it was a stroke of genius to pick my best college friends... it kept me from having to play favorites among my current ones, so nobody gets offended, and besides, these ones match. :)
