So I spent the weekend in a much-anticipated haze of JavaScript, style pages, frames, perl, and so forth. There are big changes up on my website now (pretty much all my art that's on my walls is on the site now, plus some photos), with more to come next weekend. Funny... there's really only one new page, but it's a framesy kinda page that ended up involving around 7 html documents. Then because I got a little freaky on my usual "recent events" page and threw in a popup, there's another two. Then I had to make a link to the new page from my front page, so I had to modify the linking image, and... it just kept spreading. The good news is that a) I got to a stopping point such that I should be able to leave it alone until next weekend and b) I managed to do some TKD and lifting and entertain the FMIL, though these were all just footnotes to the real action.

I also bought some really gorgeous/useful stuff for the house, as I ended up walking all the way to Arlington Center on Sunday and thus went right by a neat crafts store I've been meaning to go into for weeks. Ever seen an artsy broom before? Well, I have one now. I also tried a couple of times to call [livejournal.com profile] rumgirl to see if she made her target time in the race yesterday, but she wasn't answering her cell.... maybe she'll post soon. Finished off the evening by working on a cryptic crossword with A as I fell asleep. This is a fun game... he looks at the grid and reads me clues for words that aren't too long, and I do them one at a time in my head. "What was that? Selection from everybody's seussian adventure hero? Geez, stop it, I'm trying to go to sleep. Hmmm... it's not Horton... (silence) oh wait. Selection from "everybody's seussian". Is odysseus in there? Ha. I thought so."

Tonight, aside from a possible war, there's a talk by Stephen Wolfram, the guy who wrote A New Kind of Science, at BU at 7:00.I forgot about it over the weekend but now that I remember, I'm looking forward to it. Some other people from work are going too, I think.
