Um, unconnected facts. Really. Or at least you can't prove otherwise.
*looks around guiltily*

I had a weekend that didn't feel like one. Friday night was the tae kwon do test, where I nervously tried to prove myself worthy of a blue belt before the scary grandmaster. I know how blank my face goes during tests. AJ calls it the stern mask of justice, the teacher just asks what I'm so nervous for. Ah well! [livejournal.com profile] hiddenbear came to see me, and we got to chat pleasantly beforehand for a few minutes before I went off to fidget practice with my fellow blue-stripe-in-crime LF. I fear [livejournal.com profile] hiddenbear now thinks I'm good or something, because I was one of the four best in the room... but in any given class, where there are lots of higher belts, I would not be. Even so, it nice to kick some relative ass--the lower belts suck so much it does give one some confidence, even knowing one is held to other standards. :) Anyway, I was shaky on a couple of moves but didn't actually mess up that I could tell. Test results, alas, have not yet been posted, so I don't know for sure that I passed, but I don't see why I wouldn't have.

Saturday just sucked. I worked all day, Asimov's rejected my story with a form letter that said nothing about my story (really, would it have been too much to scribble "Asimov's not comfortable with lesbian theme", or "ending is stupid", or "too weird for me" in the margin, at least?), and I found out the people looking at the apartment that day were looking for a May 1 place, not April. That was the last straw... I broke down and cried. And then dragged my ass to TKD, and then kept working. :(

Sunday I lifted early,* flew to VA (reading one of my "how to draw the human figure" books in an attempt to figure out how to draw legs and feet for my comic) and stayed up until 10:30 in the hotel room with my boss, coding. Slept, got up, sat through presentation doodling human figures with feet, flew home. There is nothing good about that place. Yech. Thanks to one of my traveling-mates I did get to invade the Admiral's Club at the airport today... it was okay and there was free water, but I really felt more comfortable when I was down amid the members of the populace once more. Especially after learning that said traveling-mate was an evil bigot Christian and against gay marriage, despite her nice appearance. Aaaah! Take me back to Massachusetts, please, nice airplane? Now? Thank you.
