Well hellooooo, daylight saving time. It's oddly light out. I was tempted to go for a walk, but stayed in desperately trying to squeeze some creativity out of the weekend (I was torn between comic drawing, piano playing, and writing this).

This weekend was fabu, purrworthy and fun. Two entire days off, wheeee! Saturday started off with some serious dental magic--I had a chip in my front tooth that they replaced so well I can't see where the chip was, and it didn't hurt at all... well, at least not until they told me it cost $190 and my insurance only covered half. :/ Neat to see what they can do though.

I was somehow doing a lot of bumbling around (on the order of trying to leave for sparring without my chest protector and thus missing the class... dumb) but had my act together by the time I had to meet [livejournal.com profile] bluechromis for shoe shopping, and that was good. I have a new expensive pair of sandals that are very very comfy, and a new cheap pair of bright red canvas shoes that desperately need to be broken in, but which may eventually be comfy. And blue has new shoes too, and a killer dress, and some rather excellent books... um, yeah, on that topic, it is dangerous to stand with me in the SF section of any bookstore and say you need a book for a plane trip, and I would urge you all to avoid it. ;) It was more fun to be a rattle toy* and talk with a good friend than to actually get the shoes and stuff, but who am I kidding? I love having new shoes. Fun, too, to play fashionista when we all know I'll spend the summer wearing Tevas with socks anyway.

Went from that to seeing The Triplets of Belleville with HLM. It was animated and weird and we liked it. The style of caricature is not the kind I most enjoy--I have little imagination when it comes to such things, I guess--but the story was utterly cuckoo, in a good way, and the artists took a lot of risks with the humor that I appreciated.

Today? Lost an hour thanks to springing forward. Had sex, lifted weights, dressed too cutely and had to chase away a gym-wolf. Next time it'll be back to the grey t-shirt for me. Intriguingly, the comic I just inked and scanned, which I drew months ago, deals with that very topic... gym-wolves, that is, not the dressing cutely part. Maybe tomorrow night I'll be able to do the Photoshopping. :)

*To be a rattle toy is to rattle randomly around the city, generally ending up where there are books.
