flexagonI was stuck all morning on puzzle 35 and was about to give up and mathematically prove its impossibility when... I solved it. Hmph. Now on 39, yes, almost done. I think puzzles remind me of schoolwork... no wonder it's so hard not to play them at work. They use the logical bits of the brain, and it feels useful to solve them, even if it's not.
Though I still get a weird sore spot under my right floating ribs after I eat, my appetite is back in all its painful snarly glory. I've been hungry for 5 meals in a row now. Yay!
I worked on my story last night in preparation for meeting up with my writer friend MCC next week. In a desperate bid for characterization, I'm having my main character always notice the lighting wherever she goes. A lot of the surroundings in the story are still sketchy but sunlight, flourescent light, and shadows get described in detail. I hope that's working to give her some identity... I guess MCC will tell me. The book idea is always in the back of my mind when I write, these days, despite my hesitation in believing other people would ever like the ideas I come up with.
