Tra la. I think I'll do my weekend wrapup now, because I have a midweek deadline at work and things are likely to get schizo (indeed, I should probably have gone in this weekend. But I didn't, and now it's too late).
This weekend was funky. I saw lots of art at an open studio on Friday night with
bluechromis and
jg26... and if I wasn't feeling at all myself, that still didn't detract from the art. I want that big painting of the jaguar! Rrrr! Or at least visitation rights.
After that... I skipped tae kwon do because, well, I kind of like taking an occasional break from tae kwon do anyway, and decided I might as well make it a full week. That meant I did a lower body / upper body split in the weight room instead--or rather, I should say Twig Day and Oh That's Better Day. I have to admit I had more energy for each body half, and I used that to try out a few new exercises, but ugh, was Twig Day ever depressing. Someday doing squats at 85 won't make me so sore, dammit. I liked my twigs better when all I used them for was dressing in the occasional miniskirt. :b
Condo stuff, which always cheers me up, was the balance of the weekend. For the first time I did some things outside the main living area, sweeping out the garage (that's right blue, your pretty red steed no longer sits in the middle of a nasty leaf-heap!) and assembling a park bench on our back porch. By far the most fun, though, and the high point of the weekend, was repainting our bedroom today. It's hard to describe what I did, but it's sort of reminiscent of an old 8-bit video game and it makes me happy. When the bathroom gets ripped out it will remain as the crazy/fun room in the place. :) Actually, only two walls are really done, so that's something to finish up in another couple of weekends, but whatever. Pictures will come along in a friends-only post shortly.
I'm off to play piano, since I ended up regretting not doing it last week, and I don't like regret any more than I like stupid positive-feedback downward spiral sorts of things. Pooh to things like that. Up with art, music, cats, food, money, and cities. Up with my skin finally getting better again. And up with my nice bug, who I must bewilder from time to time.
