Polyvalentineity
Feb. 14th, 2018 11:36 pmI had a ridiculous Valentine's Day, as you might expect from someone who's basically drowning in lovey feelings and oxytocin. Like most of the last few years, I took the day off work to enable proper celebration (brunch with
norwoodbridge and evening/dinner with
heisenbug).
So it was that I slept in, woke up in RI with
norwoodbridge, and had a lovely brunch at a place that had almond milk for my coffee, and poked around a little bit at a sex shop and a bookstore before getting on a train homeward. There was smooching, and further asking if he was okay about breaking up with his other girlfriend yesterday, because that happened. (He is mostly okay -- thanks perhaps in part to me, girlfriend #2 or maybe #1, who encouraged him to drink and vent and have some rebound sex.)
From the train I sent V-day email to Lion, which was slightly scarier because it's our first V-day and it's good to acknowlege it a little but without forcing it or making a huge deal of it. What is a supposed FWB to do? In the end I sent him a "Roses are red / violets are blue" poem by email, with an ASCII rose, and he replied promptly with a heart -- the first heart ever to be sent between us, in fact -- so I'm counting that as a positive response. When I saw him briefly in person, later, he didn't mention it but he seemed happy.
And as for
heisenbug, a few little things! He got me roses; I got him a super silly helium balloon that is, refreshingly, cubical and not heart-shaped. And we went out to late, post-circus dinner at "our" restaurant. All good. Much less fretting over what to do then there was in 1999. And now, off to bed to snuggle up with him.
Anyone who needs to briefly hate me for all this, no worries... I would too. My fifteen-year-old self certainly does.

Date: 2018-02-15 01:24 pm (UTC)Yay!
Eric and I celebrated Sunday (art, dinner at waypoint, dessert at Aiden&Harlow, then Magic Dyke at Oberon) and Ben and I went to Casanlanca last night at the Brattle and then a poly Valentine's salon at a friend's house :)
No hate, just mutual happy :)
