An uncertain victory

So have I or haven't I defeated Gridlock? I was still stuck on 39 when I went home... HLM was stuck on 40 and I solved it rather absentmindedly while listening to him mutter about how easy it would be for him to write a program to solve it. Then I came back here this morning and solved 39, but now I can't get 40 despite the sketch I made of my own just-before-winning configuration. Hmmmmm. Work is going more clearly forware: the new recursive function I wrote last night works. I don't get to write much algorithm-y code so that makes me extra happy.

Don't have much time today, as the company is going en masse to see The Matrix this afternoon (and then going to dinner). If not for that I'd be trying the Pilates class at my gym tonight--ah well. All this not working out is actually feeling really good... nothin' since Sunday except some upper-body weights last night. I guess my body wanted a break. :)

My dad emailed & is not sounding happy... well, nothing new there. I hate feeling manipulated though. "A friendly thought today would be appreciated". Yeah, like write back today or I will crumple into a little used ball of Kleenex and it will be your fault for being a bad ungrateful daughter. Eh, well. This is just leftover bitterness... it's been about 3 years now since we actually had a scene like that.

Hope you liked Reloaded! I definitely did. I see that your company and mine are quite similar, we just ended up with earlier tickets than you.

As for Gridlock, I'm confused ... is there actually a level 41 and it just has invisible blocks or something? I tried moving what wasn't there, but couldn't find anything. Speaking of, did you find that one of the levels (33?) had a fake block in it, or was that just a glitch in my download?

There are only 40 levels. 41 should really be a "Good Job!" or reward screen, the mean game designers just choose not to give you any such thing. If you go to options you'll see how it lets you hop around levels (you can't use this to skip ahead though), and there are only 40.

36 has a block with a bug--you can move it anywhere. I'm sure you can solve it w/o cheating but I didn't bother... I was just glad to get thru the level :)

Went back and gave it another try, without moving the fake block away. I don't think it is possible. Perhaps we should write to the creators.
Have you tried it with rotation turned on? I think I would loss my lunch quite quickly!
