Predictable: broken toe not really any fun. It's been politely not hurting much, and the bruising was clearing up, but there was new bruising on Saturday so I guess I went a little hard on Friday. One can only hope it was caused by something fairly minor rather than, say, further displacement of bones. In the meantime, my in-person handstand lesson was all about kicking up on my bad side... and split-pressing and side-pressing up on my bad side. Ooooof.

Less predictable: contractors, the rental cottage. I spent most of the week working from Blue-Green Street (the one day I didn't, and worked from the office, is the day the contractors delivered some stuff but assembled nothing. Coincidence?). I learned things about the cottage and about code and inspections, and every single one of those things ruined part of my original plan, but -- after many concessions -- there's a whole, installed line of cabinetry along one wall now. There's a range that works, a dishwasher that works, a sink that works. A ventless range hood that does not work yet, because apparently it needs an electrician and not just a power cord that runs to the nearest outlet (who knew?). There's a lease out from the broker for DocuSigning (update: signed!). I installed a mailbox. Bought a ladder. Flattened and folded up many boxes for recycling. The soon-to-be tenant was over there painting the walls on Saturday and Sunday. All in all, when the squirrel family comes back it'll be quite transformed from how they left it, and I hope they like it because it's rather too late now if they don't. (Update: they got back! They like it.)

Semi-predictable: what with all the above, I didn't get much work done for my day job. And I missed my Friday workout entirely. Mercifully, not much was really due at work, and I again had no squirrel date which meant I had time to make up for it all this weekend. Why no, I wouldn't call it exciting, but it's better than being behind on damn near everything.
