Busy but decent

Some things.

• Over the course of this week I cajoled my second (and final) donation to MIT into going through. So there we are, I did a philanthrop. One of my major goals/plans for the year.


• Friday actually then turned into a weird day of reckoning. Along with the last bullet point: I returned a borrowed car to Quarte, lent a long-promised amount of money to someone, and the squirrel got back to me with how much I owed it for garden improvements. All pretty large amounts. My checking account is diminished, but I'm glad not to have those things looming anymore, too.


• I'm really sick of myself being awful at dealing with work email. I mean, I'm not awful at all when I can work undisturbed, but sometimes I really fuck up my weekend with that logic. This weekend, especially, felt really asymmetrical with lots of playing on Saturday and then lots of dumb working on Sunday. I am going to have to try new things if I want new outcomes.


• I did make lots of cashew cheese, and also a double batch of this so-called vegan alfredo sauce recipe. That one did not need to be doubled -- it was already 6 cups. What was I thinking? But I love, love, love my new Souper Cubes -- the one-cup tray is beyond excellent, and I think it's going to be my go-to Christmas present this year for everyone on my list who cooks.


• Sad rumors that the grocery store a block from my house might be shutting down soon. But also... possibly happy rumors that it might be turning into an H Mart? That would be fine with me.


• Nice dates... Bandersnatch with the bug, axe throwing and more Unravel Two with the squirrel. And at some point on Saturday night, I got to briefly see Nala in a dream. I like it when she visits me.

Edit: I forgot to mention Allegra. After snuffling and sneezing my way through Tuesday I finally searched for "best daily allergy medication for cat allergies" and invested. Where Claritin did nothing, this does everything! Very happy.
