flexagon: (squirrel coffee)

This week was largely spent paying the piper for the disruption of the eclipse trip. (Clear the backlog, prepare the... no, actually, just clear the backlog.) I am one of those people who unpacks my luggage immediately upon return, but I run my life on thin enough margins that catching up on sleep, work meetings, personal email, work email and workouts takes a lot longer. I am very nearly out of the hole now on those things, though there are still a lot of tabs open on my work computer.

Other things: I attended a cute little poetry reading run by a tenant, and caught the latest student show for Local Circus School, and saw two more episodes of The Three Body Problem. Oh, and I guess Iran attacked Israel in the middle east? Great, just what we need, more countries hopping onto what surely is the worst bandwagon in the world. (Before that I donated another chunk of cash to Biden, which I am doing ~monthly until I max out or it no longer seems needed.)

I unsubscribed from several Substacks, which were interesting and appealing but which were taking time and creating backlog.

And now there's a second surgery happening for the squirrel family. Don't get endometriosis, kids, it's a hell of a disease and apparently hysterectomy is not always a one-and-done cure. So, with that being suddenly scheduled for Tuesday, the bug and I spent most of this evening cooking for them. Hopefully this will be less of a big deal, and with a faster recovery, than last year.
