I didn’t use my library card for a long time but it turns out having books ON MY PHONE is a great distraction from doom scrolling and less satisfying time-using things i do when picking up my phone. The kindle (or paper) is nice for “sit down and just read” but that’s not the pattern of most of my reading right now.
My personal nemesis is knotweed which is ALSO everywhere. Not only is the black swallowwort bad for butterflies but pulling up invasives helps with biodiversity — they’re invasive not because they’re not native but because they smoother and out compete everything else. So i try to think of it as encouraging diversity :)
