Timepiece #1: remember that expensive watch I came dreadfully close to buying a long time ago? Well, my watch died sometime after that dip I took in the Charles while kayaking, and rather than fix it I decided to go watch-shopping. I went back to the store and... it was still there, and still 50% off, or one just like it was. My attempts to resist a second time were futile. It's so pretty... I just love the mother-of-pearl face. I almost don't even mind being the $400 poorer, knowing that I would have thought about it for weeks again if I'd passed it up for a second time.

Timepiece #2: tonight was the first Dale Carnegie class I was team leader for. After getting past a moment or two of "I don't belong in this role" panic, which were offset anyway by the moments of "I've got this shit down" confidence, I got to run the stopwatch for everyone's 2-minute speeches. I can't really tell you why, but I totally loved it. I could have timed people all night long.

And now my vacation is over, and I have to go back to work and probably roll out a hurried, half-assed deliverable either tomorrow or Friday... joy. :b

And, who wouldn't enjoy being the person with the finger on the button and snapping the whip, "TIME IS UP! MOVE ALONG!"

I can't wait to see what an $800 watch looks like! There are a couple scuba watches in that price range that I drool over, but that's quite different.
