I am so proud of myself right now.
Jun. 27th, 2004 05:06 pmSomehow, after the last two weeks of trying to get back into things, and after yesterday's lackluster upper-body performance, I just had an amazing lower-body workout. Wow. That's the first time squats have ever felt remotely good, much less like a dance or a meditation (which is what lifting is supposed to be like, in my book), but today they did. I did all my sets, and nudged my little record up by 5 pounds, and went and exhausted my quads, and did my SLDLs, and somehow still had energy left. Unsure what else to do, I slammed out 11.5 pullups just for the hell of it... which is actually pretty close to (matching?) a record in itself. Then I did some abs and headed home.
Going back through my workout notebook looking for squats entries, it would appear that seventeenth time's the charm. What a great reminder to just keep going if something seems difficult! Things do snap into place eventually.
