Nesting nesting nesting
Oct. 10th, 2004 09:37 pmI guess that wasn't all I had in me for nesting yesterday--I got inspired, in a surly way, to listen to that voice saying pah, I'm never going to read that [again], as I was moving some books from one shelf to another. Knowing I don't often feel so vicious, I swept through my bookshelves looking for things I could live without, and found two linear feet worth of the things! Yes, I measured the stack. Then I went galloping off to Goodwill with all of it before I could change my mind. And today, after a little bit of work to add another shelf to the bookshelf, we finally have adequate storage for all of HLM's shoes, and I still have space on 2 bookshelves. *bows to the audience*
Having the parents-in-law visiting for a week is definitely a factor in the "must make home better now" urges I'm getting. HLM has done some work today too, hanging shades in the front living room so that they won't be woken by light coming in and stabbing them when they're sleeping on the foldout couch. And I've put some more finish on the hallway floor. But for all the sawing and polyurethaning and random stuff we've done, probably the most important was sticking a suction-cup clock to our shower tiles. Time has always disappeared for me in there... now it can't. Soon I'll know some really scary statistics on how long it takes me to do things like wash my hair.
