You know, I'm usually the last person to scream "oh no" at a new technology, but do we really want to start making carnivorous robots? Yyyyyyyipes.
Also, just so I'm not accused of further witholding musical advice, I got The Sky Moves Sideways by Porcupine tree for HLM this Christmas. Today I brought it to work and I'm really liking it. Reminiscent of Pink Floyd in their instrumental dreamy stretches. :)
I am indisputably the refactoring queen. We had this awful example of 11 classes inheriting from a common parent when it made very little sense to have a base class, and as a result all the children contained a lot of empty or never-call-me-please methods. Well, in the last couple of days I've deleted that parent, ripped out a ton of dead code, collapsed two different three-class hierarchies into one class apiece, and then went through tidying up all the remaining children. Calling them is so simple now, and almost everything in them can be private. Now, I know none of this makes me a genius, but having this done will please my fellow programmers, who have been wanting it to get done for months and months. And it's been fun. :)
