Picked my dead (revived) laptop from Microcenter last night, so I'm now out $200 and up a functioning laptop (presumably--there's no OS on it yet). If I were ever to start a biz it'd really be better to not be running off a company OS, but I so hate to pay $299 for a real copy of Windows XP when I could get Win2K for free at work. Ugh, ugh. At least HLM met me with the laptop case so we could walk there together. Then we went home and I cooked trout and couscous and corn, and extra-yummy muffins/cakes for the par-tay. And then I got email from kfb in which a far simpler, less cluttered life was proposed and examined... yeah, admittedly that would have its good points. I kind of like juggling a lot of things though--it's an art form of its own. Must remember not to feel threatened just because other people find different ways to live. (Speaking of lifestyles, I'm still sore from Sunday's lifting! Ow-wow.)
Here is some ebay weirdness. I sold the leather scraps I had left over from recent crafty stuff, and this guy won the auction (for $4, whee). Last night he sent me an auction payment. So I sent him mail, and he responded.
Me: Thanks Timothy! I'll send the leather out tomorrow morning.
Him: OOOHHHH! I like the sound of your voice when you said Timothy!! Thanks [
soyfetus]!
I think he was being funny or cute or something. But I also think I'll play it straight, not reply, and just send the leather.
