Boring jock post
Jun. 2nd, 2005 07:37 amI love having a chinup bar in the house!!! For the first time in forever I haven't been able to feel my back muscles turning that much more into tapioca pudding as the week goes on. Aside from your standard I have a new toy dicking around, I've decided to do some pullups on Mondays and Wednesdays to add to the ones I do Saturdays in the gym. That gives my lats (and biceps) 3 workouts per week, even as the rest of rest of my upper body stays on its current schedule.
Right now I'm planning to do pyramids. So unless I'm doing it wrong, that means a set of one, then a set of two, then a set of... until I fail on the nth, at which point I do a set of n-1, then n-2.... then one. Last night I tried that and failed on 5, for a total of 24.5 pullups. I'm not used to doing that many since I usually just do one set to failure after lat pulldowns. But I'm getting a pretty good feeling about pyramids. :)
I also got a used copy of Superfoods Rx in the mail last night. Tres cool. Thanks to
webfaery for recommending it to me so many months ago.
